LynavoDrive Privacy Policy

Updated: April 7, 2026 · Effective: April 7, 2026

Open-source local data handling

The open-source edition requires no LynavoDrive account. Photo backup, LAN file access, device discovery and connection, device management, sync history, and access history are processed on user devices and the local network. The repository contains no official cross-network remote-access code.

Official free-build account behavior

LAN photo backup works with or without sign-in; LAN file access requires the desktop app to be signed in. Local device and history management are not capabilities exclusive to official services.

Official remote-service data handling

When a user enables cross-network remote access, official services may process account identity, device online state, connection coordination, security logs, and relay data needed for the service. The enabled interface and this policy describe the applicable scope.

The LynavoDrive Team (referred to as “we”) takes your privacy and personal information protection seriously. This LynavoDrive Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) explains what information we process when you use LynavoDrive products and related services, why we process it, how we store and protect it, and how you can exercise your rights.

Before using LynavoDrive, please read and understand this entire Policy, especially the terms concerning system permissions, local-network connections, photo and video synchronization, diagnostic export, local data storage, and your rights.

1. Scope

This Policy applies to information processing when you use LynavoDrive products and related services through iPhone, iPad, and associated desktop environments.

The current version of LynavoDrive primarily provides the following capabilities:

  • Discover connectable desktop devices on the same local network.
  • Establish a pairing relationship between the mobile device and desktop.
  • Automatically and incrementally synchronize photos and videos from your photo library to an authorized desktop.
  • Display synchronization status, history, and diagnostic information.
  • Export a diagnostic package only when you actively choose to do so.

This Policy does not apply to third-party products or services unrelated to LynavoDrive. If you actively share a diagnostic package, file, or other content with a third party, that third party's own rules apply to its processing.

2. Information we process and why

We follow the principles of lawfulness, fairness, necessity, and data minimization, and process information only as needed to provide the current product features.

2.1 Device identifiers and pairing information

To identify devices, authenticate pairing, restore reconnections, and maintain synchronization state, we may process:

  • clientId
  • pairing token
  • Device display name
  • Device identifier
  • Connection or session state

This information is mainly stored locally on your device, including in the iOS Keychain and the app's local database.

2.2 Local-network connection and discovery information

To discover and connect to a desktop on the local network, we may process:

  • Local-network IP address
  • Bonjour / mDNS service-discovery results
  • The target desktop's host address, port, device name, and connection availability
  • Local-network connection, health-check, and reconnection states

This information is used only for device discovery, connection establishment and maintenance, reconnection recovery, and interface status display. It is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.

2.3 Photo and video information

After you grant photo permission, LynavoDrive accesses photos and videos in your device's photo library to provide automatic incremental synchronization.

Important
  • LynavoDrive is currently designed to synchronize photos and videos from your mobile device to an authorized desktop.
  • We do not continuously upload your photos and videos to servers that we operate.
  • Data transfer occurs primarily between your own mobile device and paired desktop.

3. How we use this information

We use information only for core product functions such as local-network device discovery, automatic incremental synchronization, pairing maintenance, error recovery, and diagnostics. We do not use it for advertising, cross-app tracking, selling personal information, unauthorized cloud training, or marketing.

4. System permissions

  • Photos
Required to read and synchronize photos and videos. If denied, the core feature is unavailable.
  • Local network
Required to discover and connect to a desktop on the same local network.
  • Camera
Used to scan a pairing code. If denied, you can still connect manually.
  • Background processing
Allows synchronization to continue or resume in certain background scenarios.

5. Sharing, transfer, and public disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. Information is transferred mainly between your authorized mobile device and desktop. Diagnostic materials are shared with a recipient only when you actively choose to share them.

6. Information storage and security

Most data is stored on your local devices (mobile and desktop). We use security mechanisms such as Keychain to restrict unauthorized access. We recommend using the service on a trusted local network that is encrypted and password protected, and managing device permissions carefully.

7. Account and data deletion

Although LynavoDrive currently works mainly on local networks and does not rely on a traditional online account system as a core requirement (devices are primarily associated through a locally generated device identifier, clientId, and pairing credentials), we take your control over your data seriously:

  • Delete directly in the app: In the mobile app, open Settings and select Delete Account (or Close Account) to immediately remove all local data, including device pairing credentials, local caches, and databases.
  • Request deletion of associated data: If you left any personal information while using technical support, reporting an issue, or using any other service (such as an email address, communication records, or device identifier), email drive@lynavo.io to request account closure or deletion. Within 15 business days after verifying your identity, we will permanently delete or anonymize associated data retained in the cloud or by the development team.

For more details, please refer to our complete electronic agreement. This Policy may be updated as the product evolves.
